ABOUT ME
My name is Zafar Said. I was born in Swabi, Pakistan.
Once part of the Gandhara civilization, Swabi contains many important archaeological sites, which are tourist attractions. Alexander the Great crossed the Indus River where the village of Hund now lies on its right bank. Hund was the capital of the Hindu Shahi for nearly three hundred years.
Aurel Stein recorded in his survey of the Mahaban range "it remains for me to explain the opinion to which I have been led as regards the character and identity of this remarkable site. The nature of the ruins described and the remains they have furnished, makes it clear beyond all doubt; that they mark the position of a Buddhist sanctuary possessed of shrines and monastic establishments.
Then I moved with my family to Nizwa, Sultanate of Oman. Nizwa is one of the oldest cities in Oman and it was once a center of trade, religion, education and art. I started my schooling in Indian Scholl Nizwa till 1st Grade and then moved to Pakistan School Nizwa and completed my studies till secondary school. I did my high school in Indian School Nizwa. From there I flew to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where I obtained both my Undergraduate degree (Hons.) in Universiti Tenaga Nasional "Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) is a private university, located in Selangor, Malaysia with GLC university status. It is wholly owned by the public-listed Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), established in 1999." and PhD in Mechanical Engineering specializing in nanofluids, thermophyscal properties and solar collectors ( University Malaya "The University of Malaya (or UM) is a public research university located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is the oldest and most esteemed university in Malaysia. The university's name was abbreviated as Malaya during the pre-independence period.).
I have worked as a Research Assistant during the duration of my PhD and was awarded full scholarship from University Malaya.
Currently I am working as a Post Doctoral Researcher at Masdar Institute, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
